Programming Your Week Like a Playlist

Apr 28, 2025 | Self-Care, Weekly Blog

Think of your week like a playlist. Monday is track one—and you get to choose the vibe. Are you going to hit shuffle and let the noise of the world decide your rhythm? Or are you going to create a playlist that actually sounds like the life you want to live?

Too often, we start the week on autopilot. We wake up, dive into the chaos, and suddenly we’re halfway through Wednesday wondering how we ended up in this mood, this mess, this mental fog. That’s what happens when we don’t choose our soundtrack with intention.

But what if, instead, you curated your week the way you’d curate your favourite playlist?

Start with a theme:
What do I want to feel, create, or experience this week?
That’s your genre. It sets the tone for everything that follows.

Maybe this is a “focus and flow” week—deep work, fewer distractions, lots of ambient beats.
Maybe it’s a “joy and connection” week—upbeat tracks, spontaneous moments, conversations that fill your soul. Maybe it’s a “soft and slow” week—more rest, fewer yeses, and a little more space between the notes.

Whatever you choose, set it with intention. Write it down. Name your playlist. Make it yours.

Then, each day, check the track you’re on. Does it match your theme? Are you still tuned in to what matters? Or has the noise crept back in—notifications, obligations, expectations you never signed up for?

The good news? You can always hit skip. Always adjust the mix. Always go back to the vibe you set.

You’re not a passive listener in your own life. You’re the DJ. Below are some questions to help you become the DJ as you set the tempo. You build the mood.
And you get to decide what plays in the background of your mind, your actions, your energy.

Journal Questions

  1. 🎶 If this week were a playlist, what would I name it—and why?
(Reflect on the mood, energy, or focus you want to carry into the week.)

  2. 🎧 What “tracks” do I want to include in my week—what specific moments, habits, or feelings would make me feel aligned?
(Think about actions, experiences, or intentions that support your theme.)

  3. 🔁 What noise do I need to turn down—or skip entirely—to stay in tune with the vibe I want to create?
(Identify distractions, patterns, or mindsets that might throw you off beat.)

So this Monday, ask yourself:

What’s the soundtrack I want for this week?
And then press play—with purpose! 🎶
